Optica Q

The Optica Q is the compact optical quality sorter! Ten to fifteen tons of seed potatoes are read for quality per hour, which means the Optica Q reads just as fast as three people in the reading room.

This results in significant cost savings, but more importantly, it offers opportunities for further professionalization. With the Schouten quality sorter, every seed potato is measured for its accurate value, maximizing the yield from the harvest.

The Optica Q can be used alongside our optical size grader, the Optica CS, conventional shock or shake sorters, or in combination with machines from other brands. This flexibility is advantageous. It allows unwashed seed potatoes to go through the machine directly after sizing, or even after a period of storage. This ensures that a clean product is delivered to the customer in the end.

Maximum efficiency

With the Optica Q, you can sort out clods, debris, and quality in a single pass. The sorting is collected in three separate outlets. Potatoes with issues such as scab, rhizoctonia, wireworms, growth cracks, or harvesting damage are easily sorted out.

Flexible deployment

Due to its compact size, the machine can be easily integrated into an existing optical or traditional sorting line, even in a competitor’s sorting line.

Learning for the Optica Q

The Optica standardly recognizes a large number of deviations upon which the various sorting processes are based. Do you have specific sorting requirements? We can teach the Optica Q to meet your sorting needs.

Optica CS
The sorting process starts with the unhinging of the potatoes, so that they are separate from each other. The foliage between the product is blown away by means of an air flow. The product is assessed by size, malformation and root ball. An air stream then gently blows the potato to the right exit. Heavy clods are mechanically pushed off the belt. Insight
